Q: How many state championships teams, playing and coaching, have you been apart of?
A: “Two state championships coaching at Bloomington South. 26-0 i(only the 13th team in state history to go undefeated and win state) in 2009 – Jordan Hulls played on that team and was Mr. Basketball, and we won state in 2011.”
Q: Why did you start coaching?
A: “I am a third generation coach. My grandfather Willis Brown Simpson was a head coach in college and high school for over 40 years in Indiana and Kentucky. My father Kelly Simpson was a head coach for 17 years at Tecumseh, Eminence and Milan High Schools.”
Q: How long have you been married?
A: “14 years to my high school sweetheart Marcy. She is loves sports just as much as me, and is an amazing coach’s wife.”
Q: How many kids?
A: “3 boys. Brady age 11, Tucker age 7, and Miles 3.”
Q: Favorite Quote and why?
A: “‘Don’t get bitter, get better,’ Coach Holmes said that at Bloomington South alot, and I believe that can applied to pretty much anything we do in life.”
Q: Did you play basketball in college?
A: “Yes. Played for 4 years at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany. I was part of the first team in school history to play in the NAIA National Tournament in Boise, Idaho.”
Q: College you attended and what was your college major?
A: “Indiana University Southeast 1996-2000. My major was Elementary Education.”
