Sophomore Audra Barclay digs up plants during her last mission trip. She started going on mission trips when she was 12 years old.

“Ever since I was little, I always wanted to take part in service projects. So, as soon as I was old enough, I would help out at my church. To take part in church mission trips, you had to be at least 12 years old. Since then, I have done several mission trips within Indianapolis. In sixth grade we went to the Boys and Girls Club in downtown Indianapolis and played with the children. In eighth grade we went to a Native American reservation in South Dakota. My youth group helped fix up a new trailer home, because the other one had burned down. I also help with the community lunch at our church. Everyone is welcome. Setting up tables and serving people food are activities that I help out with. I just love giving back to the community, and it’s always been a part of my life.”
