EL teacher Amy Peddie originally came up with the idea of using giant maps a couple years ago, but her grant application was turned down. When principal Brian Knight introduced the “Genius Project,” a school-wide project to encourage teachers to produce projects in their specific field, Peddie took it as the perfect opportunity to make her giant map dream come true. Peddie’s goal of this project was to unite both EL and American students. Students from EL, AP human geography and biology classes all took part in the two weeks of events.
