The Journal Rewired

Thian Awi
Hello! My name is Thian and this year I am in my junior year of high school. I am Foregin Language Reporter and my native language is Falam, which is a dialect of the Chin language. I’m also learning Chinese but it’s a long way ahead before I can translate things into Chinese. Originally, I’m from Myanmar and I’ve been living in the U.S. for the past nine years. In school, I am involved in the Speech and Debate club and soccer (although only for my Freshmen year). My favorite foods include sushi, ramen noodles, rice, pizza, salad and fried rice. In my free time I read, watch dramas, talk to my friends, watch YouTube videos and surf the internet. Sometimes I cook for my family and they turn out to like it, but cooking is a rarity for me because I’m not patient enough to wait for the food to be cooked. However, I love eating and one of my goals in life is to try all the different types of cuisines each culture have while learning about the cultures. I’m a huge fan of anything history and it’s one of my favorite subjects in school, and one of the things in life I genuinely enjoy and feel happy when I learn about it.
