For senior Kassie McMasters, basketball has always been a passion. She was finally able to reach the long-awaited achievement of scoring 1,000 points this past season. However, as her time at SHS comes to an end, McMasters reflects on her experiences from over the years.
How did it feel to reach the milestone of scoring 1,000 points?
Reaching my 1,000 points was such a relieving feeling. I felt I had worked so hard for four years to reach this one goal, and it was finally here.
Are you planning on continuing your basketball career after high school?
Yes, I will play collegiate basketball, but currently I’m undecided on where.
Is there anyone that you would like to thank?
First, I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but also the support system that I have.
How did you initially find a passion within basketball?
I’ve had a basketball in my hand for as long as I can remember. I started playing organized basketball in second grade, and I played AAU that summer. I have never stopped playing ever since.
Do you have any advice for younger players?
I would tell them to never take it for granted.
