Megan Woodward, a mother, wife, friend and English teacher, passed away Friday night Sept. 29, after a tragic fall Thursday evening that resulted in a force trauma head injury. She fell off the bed of a truck as she was assisting the dance team in practicing for their homecoming performance for the parade following the next day. She was rushed to the hospital, and with all efforts, was unable to be saved. She is survived by her husband, Wes Woodward, her seven year old and one year old daughters. To help support them financially through this loss, a GoFundMe has been set up under the title, “In Memory of Megan Woodward.”

If students or staff also need help getting through this tough time, they can contact the main office. The main office will then help them get into contact with counselors.

In the upcoming issue of The Journal, there will be a more extensive tribute for Woodward. In between now and then, information will be updated online as it becomes available, so keep an eye on our Twitter @theSHSjournal and the website thejournalrewired.com to stay up to date.
