Underrated Colts should be considered a threat
October 2, 2014
The NFL is filled with many great teams, but I feel that currently there is a team that is off to a slow start. The Colts are currently ranked only second in the AFC South with a record of 2-2. This team to me is very strong and has a lot to prove as the season goes on. They are even predicted to win their division, but first they need to start winning more games.
The main reason that I back the Colts isn’t that I’m from Indianapolis, but rather that in all their games they manage to put up impressive scores. They may have lost two games already, but they lost by very little. The Colts’ first game of the season was against the offensive powerhouse, the Denver Broncos, led by none other than former Colts quarterback, Peyton Manning. The Broncos are currently 2-1 and are ranked first in the NFC West. The score at the end of the Colts/Broncos game was 24-31. One more touchdown and a two-point conversion and the Colts could have changed that loss to a win.
The Colts second game was against the unbeaten Eagles who sit at the top of the NFC East. The score at the end of the game was 30-27. One touchdown and the Colts could have dethroned the Eagles.
Not only do their losses show their potential, but so does their first win of the season against the Jaguars. The Colts showed what they can do when they get into a rhythm. The score at the end of the game was a whopping 44-17. Andrew Luck was huge in that game getting four touchdowns within the 31 complete passes out of 39 total that he threw. He ended the game having thrown 370 yards total.
The Colts may be off to a slow start, but they aren’t out yet. If they continue doing what they are doing, they could become one of the best teams to watch this year. Because they are off to a slow start, they do have a while to go before they can definitely be considered a dominant team.
