Grossing 52.2 million dollars in its opening weekend, “Day One” has proven its worth in the film community by surpassing trends set by the previous two movies in the franchise; however, fans like myself have not favored this one in particular.

e sound-sensitive alien race first dropped into New York. Along her path, Samira has costly decisions to make, including the kinds of people she can and cannot trust.
As the release date drew near, many fans were anticipating a prequel that would solve many mysteries left unanswered by the first two films, but as the movie progressed, it became clear that wasn’t the end goal for the production.
The lack of resolution left viewers familiar with the franchise yearning for more. Watching it felt like it was made for those who haven’t seen the original two movies.
“Day One” not only failed to bring back any references to the first two movies anywhere in its 99 minutes of playtime, but it also didn’t tie into the original storyline created by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods.
It seems that the producers chose not to tie off the end of the franchise to keep Hollywood buzzing without having to rely on new, original ideas, which was the wrong move.
When you set aside the rest of the franchise, “A Quiet Place: Day One” succeeded at establishing a plot while building upon it with anticipation and fear, as any horror movie should.
New characters were introduced and developed properly in order to give the viewers a stronger bond with the actors on screen. With these bonds, fans of the franchise truly start to gain new insights as to what life would’ve felt like in an apocalypse like the movie portrays.
Each scene was creatively shot and mastered, hooking the viewer with a beautiful experience that together created a cinematic masterpiece.
Overall, “A Quiet Place: Day One” defied the audience’s expectations, and left behind a carefully crafted movie that retold the original story the people fell in love with.
