After losing to Decatur Central in their opening match, the wrestling team has improved to 4-2.

The SHS wrestling team is moving in the direction that they want to after their Invitational on Saturday, after going to the Hagerstown Invitational and placing 2nd out of five teams.

SHS, Anderson, George Washington, Shenandoah, Hagerstown and Tri High all competed in the Hagerstown Invitational. The Cards placed second place with strong showings from many wrestlers.

Josiah Coffenberry , Brett Wright,  Robert Clark and Steven Moore all won their matches being undefeated. The cards also had a lift from Chad Rothwell, Davis Chan, Tiger Nguyen and Shawn McLaughlin.

Tiger Nguyen wrestled in his first ever wrestling match and won 4-1. Coach Josh Holden is very excited to have Nguyen on the team.

He has never wrestled before, but he has worked hard and has an awesome attitude,” Holden said.

Holden says that if Tiger was not on their team, they would not have beaten Anderson.

The wrestling team will face Perry Meridian tonight, and hope to break the streak of losing to the Falcons.
