The Cardinals wrestling team is preparing for their first home meet of the year against the Pike Red Devils. The Cards are coming off of a very successful showing at the Scottsburg invitational, placing second out of nine teams. The Cards hope to bring the success they had  back with them.

Pike will be a team that the Cardinals will see in Sectional meet. Beating Pike could help the team later on in the season.

Beating them could mean getting a better seed at the sectional tournament,” head coach Josh Holden said.

The higher seed that the team has, the higher the chance of making the State tournament would be.

Right now we are all about getting guys to the state meet, fixing individual weaknesses and creating a positive mindset in the room,” Holden said.

Beating Pike could boost the Cards down the road as the State tournament time draws nearer.
