The boys basketball team won their first regional title since 1990 in blowout fashion by beating the Terre Haute South Braves, 74-44 in the final game of Regionals.

Earlier in the day, the Braves had beaten fourth ranked North Central, 94-82. However, the Cards kept their composure and didn’t let any pressure get to them.

“(Our) mindset was to play calm, and do whatever it takes to win the game,” Junior Paul Scruggs said.

Many times throughout the game the Cards would pass up jump shots in favor of working the ball inside and allowing Senior Joey Brunk to use his size to score the Cards easy baskets. Brunk finished with a game high of 27 points.

Next weekend the Cards “are looking forward to” taking their 15 game win streak into Semi-State against top ranked New Albany.
