Starting the 2017-2018 school year, SHS students will have to begin class as the bell rings at the new start time of 7:15. However, the school day will be 15 minutes shorter, ending at 2:05 in the afternoon.

Sophomore Rebecca Hiller attended the school board meeting for time changes, and, beforehand, she had written a letter hoping to persuade a later start time. She says the school board didn’t feel they could do much more at this point in the year because it’s too late to notify transportation and others who need to know. However, if test scores, like evaluate, drop, they may consider changing the time back.
