Upcoming football season will be full of excitement

It’s all about football in the great state of Indiana. With our very own SHS Cardinals ranked 7th in the state and 194th in the nation, according to Maxpreps, I’m predicting another undefeated season as well as back-to-back sectional championships for the Cards. Junior quarterback Luke Johnston has already broken the career record for passing touchdowns. He broke that record in the first game of the season, so basically he has two years to just annihilate the record. They have defensive players like seniors Dondaycee Millbrook, John Brown, Darius Bryant and Connor Moore. The Cards also have running back, senior Cardell Tucker, who already has 201 yards and averaging 10.1 yards per carry.
For college football we have Notre Dame, who finished the season 9-4 and a win against Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl. Senior Everett Golston is back and better than ever. He completed 14 out of 22 passes with 295 yards and two touchdowns. With the change of conferences in every sport but football, they had to pick up a couple of teams to their schedule that usually wouldn’t be on there. For example, Rice, North Carolina and Louisville. Louisville and North Carolina are only two of the six ranked teams as well as their usual rivals Purdue and Michigan which are almost always close games. Notre Dame faces last year’s BCS winner Florida State this year as well as 13th-ranked Stanford, 14th-ranked USC and 17th-ranked Arizona State. I predict a 8-4 season for the Fighting Irish.
Now I’ll head into our very own professional football team the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts finished 11-5 on the regular season and then later lost to the New England Patriots in the playoffs. The Colts have one of the toughest schedules. They play the Eagles, Ravens, Bengals, Patriots, Redskins and the Giants are all tough competitors. This will be Andrew Luck’s best year and a lot of it has to due with his receivers. The Colts just absolutely have the best receiving core, they have the legend, Reggie Wayne, the fast T.Y. Hilton and the new Colt, Hakeem Nicks. I have little hope for running back Trent Richardson. His performance last year was no where close to the level he needed to impress me. Trading Donald Brown was a big mistake, Richardson will not get it done. I predict that the Colts will go 14-2 and win the super bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles. This is going to be a great year for Indiana football.
