Guinevere Rugenstein, Artist
Hello, my name is Guinevere Rugenstein, but everyone calls me Guin. I am an artist on The Journal staff this year! I’m a senior this year, and I’m ecstatic to end my high school experience with such an amazing group of people and environment! This is also my first year on The Journal. I have experience with digital art and drawing, though it’s been a while since I’ve taken it seriously. But, I can’t wait to get back into it! Other than The Journal, I’m the xylophone and glockenspiel player for SHS Marching Cardinals, and a vibraphonist for SHS Indoor Percussion Ensemble. I’ve been involved with music and instrumentals since the fourth grade, and it’s a huge portion of my daily life. I am almost always listening to music. I can’t say I have a favorite genre since I honestly listen to it all, except for country. But, my favorite artist is Mitski. Aside from music, I’ve been on the tennis team since sophomore year. I can’t say that I’m good, but I have a ton of fun and thoroughly enjoy the sport. I’m a part of the Speech and Debate team and even made it to state my first year! I hope to actually be able to compete in State Speech this year. I’m also a member of Creating Connections for Cardinals, an informative and student advocacy group for bullying, sexual assualt and suicide awareness. In short, I have no free time, but I’m glad to add journalism to my plate!
