An Indiana teenager, Sam Bishop, chose to donate more than $10,000 in birthday money to A Rosie Place, a children’s hospital. Bishop, who has Type 1 Diabetes, turned 15 on Sept. 25. He raised the money on GoFundMe, according to WTHR, and was thankful for the opportunity because the kids at the hospital have it “much harder” than he does.

A Rosie Place is a hospital for medically-fragile children, located in St. Joseph County. The money, totalling $10,343, will contribute to paying staff during the hospital’s weekend sleepovers. The hospital plans to increase its operating hours early next year.
