Saturday, SHS earned a fourth conference win by defeating the Terre Haute North Patriots, 74-46.  SHS now has a 4-0 conference record and a 13-2 record overall.

Senior Guard Malik Bennett lead the team in scoring with 22 points.  He also has four rebounds and four assists.  Even though they got the win, there were still some things that they could have done better Bennett says.

“We could have just scored more,” Bennett said. “We missed too many shots and free throws.”

After the first quarter the Patriots were still within 11 points of SHS. But during the third quarter SHS went on a 15-2 run to open up a big lead lead.

SHS shot nearly 55 percent from the floor, but only 60 percent from the free throw line.  The Patriots shot 37 percent from the floor and nearly 31 percent from the free throw line.

The numbers will have to be better when they face Columbus North, the team that has a share of first place in the conference, Bennett says.

“We are going to have to play our best game against (Columbus North), cause it’s going to be tough,” Bennett said.
