In a packed audience at Lucas Oil Stadium, the very last stop in the U.S. for The Eras Tour, the crowd exchanges bracelets with one another and screams the lyrics to the songs performed by Taylor Swift.
“It was so fun … ,” junior Lillie Youmans said. “Everybody else was so happy to be there, and so it was like everybody was screaming the lyrics and everything, and it was so awesome.”
With the students who went to the concerts, many have expressed their enjoyment and fondness over that show, what it was like and how it felt to be there.
To get a single ticket for this show could have cost over $1,000. However, through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, one kid, sophomore Kayla Loper, was able to go to the concert for free due to the Colts donating tickets to them.
According to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America website, “Big Brothers Big Sisters helps children realize their potential and build their futures. We nurture children and strengthen communities.” Their mission is to spark power and promise in the youth by making and supporting one-on-one mentoring relationships.
“The big brothers and big sisters program assistant asked if we wanted tickets, and we said ‘Why not?’” Loper said.
Throughout the concert, aspects such as costume changes, aesthetics, sets and parts of the show have all been things that students have expressed love and fondness for.
Youmans says that Taylor Swift means a lot to her due to her belief that there’s a song for every situation and that they’re very relatable.
Youmans has also expressed that the concert was crazy and didn’t feel real. But despite that, she feels as though it was perfect.
“It was amazing,” Youmans said. “It was the best night of my life ever.”
