On April 14, the SHS boy’s volleyball team will host rival Perry Meridian. Varsity will play at about 7:30 p.m. and JV will start at 6:00 p.m.

The Cards come into the game ranked seventh in Indiana. They also boast a 10-3 record that includes teams they have beat from out of state. The Cards come into the game following two loses to Chesterton and Roncalli which are ranked first and second in the state respectively.

Perry comes in unranked and with two losses and no wins. They previously lost to Center Grove and Franklin Community. Neither of those teams are ranked.

SHS has had a good season so far according to assistant coach Brock Chipman.

“They started (the season) off really good,” Chipman said. “We’re a good team this year.”

In games the Cards have won, they have taken the first two out of three matches or the first three out of five of matches to win the game in all except two games. The games that took extra matches were against teams in or around the top 10 in the state.

In the Cards three losses, they have taken their opponents to the max amount of games twice. The only team they got swept by is Chester, the number one team in the state.

Perry has not won a match yet this year in either of their two games.
