From practice to playing on the field, and from the discussion of the event to making it happen.
Seniors Kamiah Davis and Hannah Neuman both take on the task of balancing academics, leadership roles and time

management. It took them time to get familiar with not having a lot of free time and letting go of some of the activities they were passionate about.
“It’s a challenge, and I like the challenge,” Davis said.
Being a part of both extracurriculars, Davis and Neuman learned how to work on academics and ideas for the student council, while remaining on the soccer team too. Soccer has been a big part of their lives and it’s important for them to make time for it.
Both Davis and Neuman are heavily involved with sports. Davis plays soccer, basketball and track, while Neuman plays soccer and lacrosse. Although they both engage in many sports, their main focus is maintaining soccer and student council in their schedules.
Davis and Neuman equally devoted themselves to the thrilling experience of being on the soccer field and the leadership of the student council with unwavering dedication and drive.
“It’s all about (making) time and space for the things I love,” Neuman said.
Undertaking these major roles may not be easy. But Davis and Neuman chose to have no free time in order to become the best leaders on and off the field.

Student council sponsor Bradley Mitchell is a big reason that they have grown as leaders and as people.
Mitchell always wants to see them succeed in what they’re doing. He is very proud of how far they’ve grown over the years, and he’s ready for them to finish their last year off strong.
“They’ve shown an ability to make sure they get what they need to do for student council, and I’m assuming for soccer too,” Mitchell said.
Showing up every day to soccer practice and school can be a difficult task. But being able to stay focused during practice and games gives the team good guidance to look up to. Davis and Neuman are the influences the team learns from and they want to follow in their footsteps.
“They’re kind of like silent captains on the team,” head coach Cory Sandvold said. “They’re not the actual captains, but the girls lean on them to show up every day prepared.”

Neuman and Davis want to be remembered as leaders that put the commitment into being defenders on the field to represent students’ voices.
Through freshman to senior year, Neuman and Davis developed a really good relationship with coaches and students. Moving forward, Neuman and Davis encourage the new beginners to keep going even when it gets difficult.
“Don’t give up no matter what goes on in our lives,” Neuman said. “It’s all about how you respond and react to it.”
