Gabe Harman, Sports Reporter
What’s up, y’all! I’m Gabe Harman, and I’m finally a senior at SHS. This is my second year on The Journal and yes, I’m running it back as a Sports Reporter. If you don’t know me too well, here are some of the basics: I’m a team captain for the school’s baseball team and one of the co-presidents of the Booster Club. If you can’t tell from my staff photo, I love baseball, especially the New York Yankees. I’m hoping they can win the World Series for the 28th time this year. I’m a huge fan of movies like “Apollo 13” and “Forrest Gump” (yes, Tom Hanks is my favorite actor). I enjoy going to church every Sunday and reading the Bible first thing in the morning. I hope you guys haven’t gotten bored of reading about me and are ready to enjoy my stories.
Ava McBride, Sports Reporter
Hello, I am Ava McBride, a sophomore at SHS. This is my first year being on The Journal. I’m excited to be a part of the group and make new experiences with everyone. Besides being on The Journal, I play softball during the spring for the school. I also love exploring new places and traveling. I’m a very introverted person, I like keeping to myself and I’m quiet.
Marissa Par, Features Reporter
Hi everybody! My name’s Marissa, and I’m one of your Features Reporters for this school year. I’m a sophomore here at SHS. This is my first year being a part of The Journal, and hopefully not the last one either. During my freshman year, I was in Mr. K’s Journalism class. That course gave me a real look into what The Journal was really like, and I instantly knew I wanted to be a part of The Journal family. But I really knew I wanted to pursue journalism when my best friend and sister in Christ, our Editor-in-Chief, Lucy Len Dim, always pushed me to write to the best of my abilities in all of my journalism assignments. While it’s always expected to write well, I cannot stress enough how this tiny body of Lucy balances such a busy schedule, yet still makes time to ensure I produce not only good work but GREAT work.
