I remember after dinner when I was little, my dad and I would play around in the living room. Most of the time it was quality father-daughter time, something that wouldn’t last long because the older I got, the less often we did it.

Although not one person can do much about it, it’s disappointing to know that there comes an age when parents have to sit their kids down and speak to them about what the world is really like.
While there have always been limitations for kids, the rapid advancement of technology has made them more aware of things that aren’t appropriate to know at such a young age.
Although the world is evolving and troubles are introduced daily, kids shouldn’t have to be taught disturbing topics that relate to adults, especially early enough to where they have a worrisome childhood.ause of access to the internet and the lack of school resources. In some cases, when the school curriculum does teach life lessons, they stop teaching them after a certain grade level.

There will almost always be reports on the news of violence, political issues or something nobody knew about.
And now that report is another concern, added to the list of an adult’s concerns that are now their child’s concerns.
This made me always aware of what was happening around me. Everywhere in public after the pandemic, I would plan escape routes and scenarios.
‘What would I do if there was a weather alert?’ ‘What would I do if that guy had a weapon?’
It is important for children to learn about what is possible to happen before exiting the grocery store. It is important to have reality checks sometimes.
But why is that the reality? What if the reality were to be what kids really do think it is before they’re taught what’s wrong with the world?
