Boys tennis falls to Franklin Central

Thursday night the boy’s tennis team lost to Franklin Central. The team fought off one serve after another, but in the end, could not take the relentless serves of the Flashes.

Senior Chase Cawthorne and his freshman doubles partner Colston Streit lost both sets with scores of 6-3 and 6-3 .

“One thing I could of worked on was definitely just not trying to hit their hard serves back. I honestly don’t feel that I played very well tonight,” said Streit.

Freshman John Gunderson and freshman doubles partner Jacob Peters also lost both sets 6-0 and 6-0.

The three players that played varsity singles were junior Dane Haynes, freshman Zach Bozarts and freshman Noah Hall.

Haynes lost both sets with scores of 6-0 and 6-0, Bozarts lost both sets with scores of 1-6 and 0-6 and Hall lost both sets with scores of 6-2 and 6-2.

“ We just need to bring intensity to practice. In this game you have to hit the ball, you can’t worry… about missing. Their always worried about missing. By doing (so) we’re not setting ourselves up with good shots. We need to take charge of the points instead of letting the other team,” said Coach Harry Schwartz.
