The Cards lost 4-1 to the Center Grove Trojans Thursday night.

The Cards were immediately on the defensive after kick off as the Trojans applied early pressure. But as the first half went on, the Cards slowly gained the momentum and began taking more shots than the Trojans. But when the first half ended the score was still 0-0.

“The first half was brilliant, and I think we had the run of the play,” head coach Josh Brown said.

When the second half started, it took less than a minute for the Trojans to take a 1-0 lead. The Cards answered back a minute later with a goal of their own. The 1-1 tie was the last time the Cards controlled the game.

The Trojans scored another goal on a counter attack, and several minutes later Center Grove was awarded a penalty kick. SHS goalkeeper junior Ngun Lian saved the penalty kick, but Center Grove scored on the rebound.

“Our keeper makes a good save on a pk, and the rest of the team is standing around watching,” Brown said.

This game was the Card’s final game of the regular season. They ended the regular season with a 5-4-2 record according to MaxPreps.
