The SHS wrestling team lost to the Pike Red Devils last night by a score of 52-24. The Cards started strong and were in the lead for the majority of the first half of the meet. But, the Red Devils showed a relentless fight and ended up on top.

However the Cards did have quite a bit of individual success, having four people win by fall. Junior Brett Wright, junior Dennis Serrano, junior Robert Clark and senior Steven Moore all were in control of their opponents winning by fall.

“I think our improvement really showed by getting four pins against a good team,” head coach Josh Holden said.

The Cards are looking for success at the Old Capital Classic on Saturday.

“We have to fight off our back and save those team points and give ourselves a chance to win matches against tough kids,” Holden said.
