The Lady Cards will be facing Decatur Central High School (6-16) tomorrow night at 6 in the first round of sectionals at Decatur. Decatur Central have lost five games in a row coming up to playing the Cards. Junior Lindsay Freijie says they have a good chance of winning tonight.

“As long as we play with lots of energy and focus,” Freijie said. “We are predicted to win.”

One of the main keys is to not turn the ball over. As long as they don’t turn the ball over, they will have a better scoring opportunity. Assistant Coach Greg Burton says Decatur Central has size and they are capable of playing well, but the Cards can definitely complete. Burton says they’ve been practicing all week for Decatur Central. They been working on a specific defense to work around some of Decatur’s big players to score. All of the coaches have seen Decatur play and watched film on them multiple times.

“We are prepared, it is just whether or not we come out and play,” Burton said. “If we can keep from turning the ball over, the same stuff that has been on our Achilles heel, I think we will be fine.”
