About half way through the season, the SHS basketball team found a player that has helped spark the Cards hot play. Senior David Reyes has received significantly more playing time in the second half of the season compared to the first.

Reyes has received much playing time because of his defensive presence on the floor.

“I think I bring a defensive presence and energy on the floor, along with my teammates to knock down shots,” Reyes said.

Reyes says he has stayed patient and focused to receive the playing time that he deserves. He thinks that in order to advance to semi-state, the team needs to play together as a team and play hard.

The Cards will face Connersville in the first game of regionals, and will face the winner of North Central and Terre Haute South.
