Girls soccer vs. Perry Meridian recap

SHS girls soccer team lost to conference team and rival Perry Meridian on Sept. 3. Losing 6-0, sophomore Erin Sullivan shot the only shot on goal for SHS.

Trailing 5-0 at the end of the first half, senior Schuyler Wright was taken out of the game and replaced with sophomore Mildred Delgado entered the game as goalkeeper and only allowed one goal the second half.

Senior captains Mikaela Maillet and Brandi Ford both rolled their ankles in the game. However, both of them returned to the game. Ford rolled her ankle in a previous game as well.

Perry Meridian senior Maddie Fleet scored three of the six goals in the first half including her first in the first two minutes of play. The other three goals were scored by senior Tori Jackson and senior Amanda Annee.

Junior Ellie Wilson led Perry with four assists tying the school record. Wilson also received the title player of the game.

SHS is on a 15 game losing streak continuing from last year and going 0-4 so far this season.

The team’s next game will be played on Sept. 6 at 11:30 a.m. at Whiteland High School.
