News Brief: Bathroom rules revoked

President Donald Trump, as of Wednesday  Feb. 22, has decided to revoke former President Barack Obama’s wishes of gender equality bathrooms. Obama, when in office, said he might lessen funding to public schools not following his wish of allowing students to use the bathroom they choose to identify with. Later that day, many gathered near the White House to protest, claiming this tells transgender discrimination against them is alright. Trump thinks the federal government shouldn’t have say in the states about this issue.

Sophomore Jaymie DiPatrizio, who is transgender, thinks there should be transgender bathrooms for transgenders’ comfortability, however would not use it himself.

“I wouldn’t use the transgender bathrooms,” DiPatrizio said. “I’d always use the boys bathroom, personally.”
