Jimena Velazquez, Podcast Producer
Hey guys! I’m Jimena Velazquez, and this is my second year on The Journal. This year, I have the honor of coming back as the Podcast Producer! I’m so excited for this opportunity and can’t wait for all the amazing stuff planned out for this year’s podcast. Aside from being a part of The Journal, I really enjoy playing the cello in Orchestra and diving deep into books of all genres. Spending time with friends and family is also one of my favorite things to do, as well as listening to music. As we head further into the school year, I can’t wait for everyone to see all the amazing work The Journal will produce this year!
Daphne Kerr, Sports Reporter
Hi! My name is Daphne Kerr, and I am a sophomore here at SHS! It is my first year on The Journal and I am a Sports Reporter! At SHS, I participate in activities such as theater, varsity cheer and dance. Outside of school, you could find me listening to music, singing, working or watching movies. I love reading the Bible and meeting new people. I am a huge talker! After high school, I plan to go on to become a behavioral analyst. As of now, I am very excited to be on The Journal and share my work!
Ethan Hilario, Opinion Editor
Hi, my name is Ethan Hilario, and I will be the Opinion Editor for the school year of 25’ – 26’. I’m very excited to see what this new bunch of writers will produce in this section, and I’m also excited about being an editor this year!! Something about me is that I work at McDonald’s, and if you want to know which one, just ask me in person and I’ll most likely tell you cause I’m lowkey a chill guy. I think that this year will be very fun since it’s my junior year, and I got some nice classes this year, but a couple of them are going to be hard unfortunately. I’m most likely going to be quite busy during the fall this year. After all, I’ll be busy with The Journal because I’m an editor to a section where everyone is my writer and I’ll be participating in the musical this year as a background character aka the ensemble. Therefore, not only should you pick up a Journal and explore our website, BUT you should come to the musical in mid November.
P.S.
I would like to dedicate this year to the former Opinion Editor, E.P., for she will always be in my heart as the number one Opinion Editor (she’s the only Opinion editor I’ve ever met.) May Ball State treat her well.
