The new movie Deadpool was first released February 12th, starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, T.J Miller, and Ed Skrein. Despite the movies genre of being categorized as an “Action film”, “superhero movie”, “science fiction film”, “thriller”, “adventure film”, and “fantasy” it was an unexpected hit as a Valentine’s Day movie with the release date being so close to the holiday.

Junior Alysha Copeland and her boyfriend Mike Jones went to see the movie for the big day, making the experience of seeing the “superhero movie” a romantic one.

Since seeing the movie was still a part of their Valentine’s Day plans Copeland says to make the movie a more romantic thing, the two decided to dress up, despite the location of the date.

“It was just kind of automatically romantic because I went with my boyfriend,” Copeland said.

To make the experience a bit more suitable for Valentine’s Day Copeland says that the two snuck in a box of chocolates to eat during the movie and that they ended up holding hands most of the time.

However, on the opposite end of the spectrum Francisco Camano, who was one of the first people to see the movie, has waited four years to see it, but that the experience wasn’t ruined because of the couples in the audience.

“I enjoyed it a lot, especially because there was a part of the movie leaked four years ago, so I’ve been waiting since then to see it.” Camano said.

Despite the fact that the movie wasn’t ruined because of the Valentine’s Day couples, there was some annoyance at the families who had brought in their children despite the movie’s R rating.

But, all in all, despite the date of the release, Camano says that he liked the movie and was glad that he was one of the first to go and see it, while Copeland says the she didn’t mind the release date and it made for a surprisingly romantic Valentine’s Day.
