Hi, my name is Silas Nelson, and I’m an Arts & Entertainment Reporter this year on The Journal. I’m a sophomore at Southport, and this is my first year in student publications. I decided to take journalism to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone, and I’m excited to see where the experience takes me. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my friends, making and listening to music and playing basketball. I’m always looking for ways to grow, and my biggest goal is to be successful in whatever I do.
