The Journal Rewired

Ava Campbell

Ava Campbell, Features Reporter

Hey! My name is Ava Campbell, and I’m a sophomore this year. I am a Features writer for The Journal, and I’m so excited for this opportunity! Since I was little, I’ve wanted to write for a high school newspaper, and now I finally get to! I can’t say it’s always been my dream to become a professional journalist, but writing has always been something I really enjoy. Outside of The Journal, I am an avid reader. In my opinion, fiction is so much better than nonfiction, and my favorite authors are John Green and Becky Albertalli. When I’m not reading or writing, I’m probably out running. Track is my favorite sport, but I am a part of both the cross country and track teams here at SHS. I’ve been running since I was about nine years old, and I’m planning to continue running for the rest of my life. Baking is also a huge interest of mine. Cinnamon rolls are my specialty, but I also make pies, cakes or anything sweet. I love listening to music and honestly spend way too much of my time doing so. I play the flute in the school concert band, but I’m more interested in listening to others play than playing myself. Mainly, I’m excited to do great work and make new friends this year. Thanks for taking the time to learn about me, and I hope you enjoy all The Journal has to offer!
