Elizabeth Valadez, Editor-In-Chief

Hey, y’all. It’s Elizabeth Valadez, and this year I’m back for my third and final year as The Journal’s Editor-In-Chief. I also play the clarinet, I´m a teen fact-checker for MediaWise, and I’m a member of National Honor Society. I’m a really big nerd and want to be an English teacher when I grow up. Or a lawyer. Or a social worker. I’m an extremely indecisive person. I would say my spirit animal is English teacher Samuel Hanley, but my favorite animal is an orangutan. They make me want to cry happy tears. You can usually find me psyching myself out in Room 400, watching Netflix (my favorite shows are “Jane the Virgin” and “Grey’s Anatomy”), or reading a good book. I don’t have any pets, so I never have a legitimate excuse to not hang out with friends. Obviously, I’m not really a people person, but I love talking. And making people feel uncomfortable. I take pride in my dry humor. You should follow me on Twitter @eelizubith because I’m funny. My final year on The Journal feels so bittersweet, but I’m super excited for the great work we are bound to produce.
