Ryder Harris, Reporter
Hi! My name is Ryder Harris. I’m a sophomore and a photographer for The Journal. I can’t wait to see how this year unfolds. I play the snare drum for the Southport Marching Cards. When I’m not working or doing school activities, I like playing guitar and hanging out with my friends. I also love taking pictures. When I took my two semester journalism class during my freshman year, I fell in love with photography. Being able to capture whatever you want and telling a story through a picture is so interesting to me. I’ve always liked taking photos with my phone, but things really came to life when I got my hands on a real camera. My household consists of my sister, my dad and two parakeets named Bibi and Pickles. Over the summer I got my permit, I went camping and kayaking and I worked. Some video games I enjoy playing are “Sea of Thieves” and “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.” My favorite TV show is “Outer Banks” and my favorite movie is “Into The Wild.” I like all kinds of music but my favorite band of all time is “Greta Van Fleet.” Not to brag or anything, but I’m going to three of their shows on their tour this year. I’m so excited to see how this year goes. If you want to see some of my photos, follow me on Instagram @ryderharrisphotography!
