The Journal Rewired

Josiah Veen

Josiah Veen, Reporter

Hi, I am Josiah Veen. I am a sophomore and a sports writer for The Journal. I am excited for my first year on The Journal, though this is my second year being involved in journalism. I am looking forward to learning more about the sports at SHS. As a sophomore, I am ready to finally experience a regular high school year after last year was basically cut in half by COVID-19. I get to experience what feels like a whole new school, so I feel like a freshman all over again. I look forward to getting more involved in school activities this year, I especially love playing lacrosse for SHS. Another one of my favorite sports is football, and I love watching the Indianapolis Colts play every Sunday. I also like to hang out with friends, as well as my brother and sister. My brother is a senior who plays soccer for SHS and my sister is studying to be a veterinarian at Calvin University. I also have a cat named Phineas, a cat named Popeye and a fish. I hope my first year on The Journal will be memorable, and I can’t wait for the experiences to come this year.
