Elisabeth Pointer

Elisabeth Pointer, Culture Reporter

My name is Elisabeth Pointer. I am a sophomore and a Culture writer for the Journal. I am a competitive gymnast at The Dance Refinery. I have been doing gymnastics for ten years, competing for six while practicing for five days, with a total of fifteen hours of practice a week. My favorite color is dark purple, but I also like dark blue. My favorite animal is a seal, but I also really like cats. I have a pet cat named Sassy. Not only do I have a pet cat, but I also have a pet dog named Blair. I enjoy playing video games, especially sandbox games such as Minecraft and Stardew Valley. I also like to play many card games with friends and family such as Uno, Spoons and Phase 10. A game I like to play that isn't a card game is Mancala, which I’ve gotten really good at it. I really enjoy a lot of things related to science, especially when it has to do with biology or geology. I am pretty social with friends and family, but sometimes I’m not very good at talking to new people. My favorite class at Southport High School is German. The teacher, Herr Sponsler, is really nice and I have a lot of friends in that class. I care a lot about my grades, so I strive to get A’s and B’s every year.
