The Journal Rewired

Astrid Gojko

Astrid Gojko, Sports Reporter

Howdy! My name is Astrid, and I am a junior. I’m the Lifestyle Editor and a Sports Writer. This is my first official year on The Journal, but I’ve helped out in various ways throughout my high school career. I am one of the Directors of Fundraising for Riley Dance Marathon, and I’m in Theatre. I don’t really watch TV, but when I do, I always watch “Glee.” I also love Taylor Swift and Frank Ocean. My astrological big three are Cancer sun, Leo moon and Libra rising. Basically, I am the poster child for being insufferable. If you can think of things annoying people like, I probably love them. I love to travel and visit places like museums, book shops and thrift stores. A lot of my free time is spent in rehearsal or with my friends. I have two cats, named Chevy and Sunflower. My favorite movie is “Mamma Mia.” The soundtrack and plot are what has made it a staple in my life. I enjoy reading, though I don’t do it as much as I would like. I am very interested in social injustice, and I would love to be a criminal defense lawyer. My dream college is the University of Pennsylvania, but I think I’m going to go to Ball State with my best friends. My favorite food is any type of pasta. I love love love Dr. Pepper and Yerba Mate. My mom is one of my best friends, and she is my favorite person in the world. I am super excited for this year because we’re beginning a new century of The Journal, and I know it will be a great one!
