December Tling, Culture Editor
Hallo Alle! My name is December Tling and I will be the Culture Editor this year. This is my second year on The Journal, and I’m heading into my junior year. It’s quite a new change. Regardless, I’m excited to make new friends and push my writers to become better versions of themselves. What I like to do in my free time is read fanfictions and watch anime. One of my favorites is “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.” I am always up for any conversations, including anime, music or TV shows like “Lucifer.” I am quite social and participate in a lot of extracurricular activities. Some examples are marching band, where I play the flute, and the Burmese American Community Institute Upward College Program. I always try my best to help those around me, especially in my community, and volunteer whenever I can. I love to eat food, Asian food in particular, and my favorite snack currently is pocky. I was baptized during October 2020 at my church, Indiana Lutuv Evangelical Church. In all honesty, things have been rocky ever since but my faith and trust in God is strong despite everything that happened. Adding to that, this school year is going to be difficult and strict so I pray that this year will be successful for all of us.
